Dear DIHNET community
This month closes 2020, and so are closing some open calls of innovation actions. Do not miss the opportunity to apply and take a look to our open calls page here to be up to date with calls in different technology fields. This December bulletin brings you news on some of the upcoming open calls and activities for the next two months. We are looking forward to a 2021 full of good news for Digital Innovation Hubs in Europe!
The EU-funded KITT4SME project is developing scope-tailored and industry-ready hardware, software and organisational kits for European SMEs and mid-caps. The aim is to deliver these as a modularly customisable digital platform that can seamlessly introduce artificial intelligence in their production systems. Implementation and adoption of the customised kits will provide SMEs better quality control, optimization and human-robot interaction in the production process. In the Spring of 2021, the first open call will be launched with a goal to increase the number of technology providers using the digital platform to showcase and deliver their solutions. For more information about the open calls, follow KITT4SME on LinkedIn here and Twitter here.
This month 4 Open Calls including all technology areas covered by the Smart Anything Everywhere Initiative start – and there are many more to come in 2021! So, don’t miss your chance to receive funding for your digitisation project. Check out the various calls and respective deadlines online here.
agROBOfood has launched a call for independent evaluators who would be able to assess the quality of the proposals shortly after the closing of its 2nd Open Call, focused on Industry Challenges. The call closes on the 20th of January 2021, and the evaluation will take place during February and March. Find out how to become an agROBOfood evaluator here.

During the pilot phase paving the way to the first round of Open Calls, Change2Twin established contacts with 31 Digital Innovation Hubs in 15 countries. The strong interest from DIH to participate in Change2Twin funding scheme was astonishing and covering a broad geographical area. The representatives of these DIH will get a training course in the first weeks of January 2021 so that they are ready to take up their role when the next Open Call opens – 28 January 2021. Read more about the role of DIHs in Change2Twin here.
The DIGITbrain project is deeply rooted in the innovation ecosystem of the I4MS project CloudiFacturing and the industrial platforms FIWARE and IDS, and it will build on these results, by means of extending the CloudiFacturing solution with an augmented digital-twin concept calls “Digital Product brain” and a smart business model calls “Manufacturing as a Service”. Know more about these two Horizon 2020 projects here.
